M2 ROBOT INSTALLATION

ROBOTIC INTERACTION INSTALLATION · 2006–08

CO-DEVELOPED WITH CLAUS BJERRE JACOBSEN · EXHIBITED AT ODENSE ROBOT FESTIVAL

MAKING DIALOGUE PHYSICAL

Developed with Claus Bjerre Jacobsen as an Interaction Design project and later exhibited at Odense Robot Festival, M2 used robotised screen figures to make dialogue physical. Touching a robot’s screen-head raised it, activated graphics and sound, and invited it into the shared interaction. As more robots joined, the audiovisual response became richer and more complex.

The installation evolved through several physical prototypes—from a seven-robot concept using salvaged monitors, Arduino control, cable-and-pulley mechanics and wiper motors, to a three-robot public version driven by LINAK actuators. I co-developed the interaction and technical system, contributing the welded steel structures, physical prototyping, electronics integration and audiovisual behaviour.
