A map for tracing Roskilde’s fires through time

Created for the KlimaX exhibition at Roskilde Museums, this interactive installation visualised the fires that reshaped the city across time. Visitors selected individual years and the mapped city updated to show which streets and blocks were affected by each event.

I translated archival history into an interactive map, combining a timeline control, animated highlights and concise event text so visitors could explore one fire at a time. The visual language drew on historic documents and maps, turning a complex sequence of events into a clear, atmospheric museum experience.
